Cranberry River ran through the Botanical Area, and here was a beaver dam. The area was restricted, and signs warned dog owners about Beaver Fever and other aquatic ailments threatening their pets. The glade was really lovely, an environmentally rich area, and at dusk and into the night fireflies floated above this whole lower region of the park.
